The Role of Social Media in Modern MV Marketing

Social media has completely changed the way music videos are promoted today. Platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok allow artists to share teasers, behind-the-scenes clips, and updates directly with fans. This connection builds excitement before the release and helps the music video reach a global audience within minutes. As fans share and interact with the content, social media becomes one of the most powerful tools for promoting music videos in the digital age. Building Hype Before Release Artists post teasers, countdowns, and concept photos. Example  - Taylor swift  Taylor Swift Instagram Her social media page always matches her resent release Album - life of a show girl (Resent Release) Album - Torchured Poet's Department Album - Evermore Taylor Swift’s social media always matches her release theme. For evermore , she used warm, rustic tones and nature-inspired photos, while for The Tortured Poets Department , her pages turned monochrome and poetic. This helps fans ...

Research music video backgrounds(locations)

Here, I have researched the backgrounds of music videos of the same genre. Music video backgrounds play a significant role in enhancing the mood and depth of the song. Blue - Yung Kai ZZ Minimalist, muted settings  - the plain and almost empty backgrounds reflect isolation and vulnerability, mirroring the raw and melancholic tone of the song. Soft lighting & blue tones  - the color blue naturally conveys sadness, nostalgia, and longing, which amplifies the heartbreak in the lyrics. Calm, still atmosphere  - nothing flashy is happening in the background; this quietness makes the emotions feel more personal and intimate. Dreamlike visuals  - the hazy, almost surreal background adds a sense of distance, as if the artist is lost in memory or drifting through emotions. The backgrounds in Blue gradually shift from bright and open natural settings to darker, fading sunsets, visually mirroring the emotions of the song. The use of trees, sunlight, the beach, and th...

Distribution Platforms

Here, I have researched some Distribution platforms that distributes MVs  1. YouTube YouTube is the biggest video platform in the world and the first place fans look for music videos. It’s free to upload, easy to share, and works on almost every device. You can create a channel just for your music and organize MVs, lyric videos, and behind-the-scenes clips. Plus, YouTube lets you earn money through ads if you turn on monetization. 2. Bilibili Bilibili is one of the most popular video-sharing sites in China . It started as an anime/gaming community but is now huge for music and lifestyle content. Posting your MV here can help you reach a big Asian audience that might not use YouTube as much. Bilibili also has an active comment culture where fans can leave “bullet comments” that appear on the video, which makes engagement fun. 3. Vimeo Vimeo is known for high-quality streaming and a clean design . Many filmmakers and artists use it to showcase professional projects because the...

Practicing Photography of backgrounds(locations)

Here I will be practicing some photography with different backgrounds that bring out different moods Places Melancholy Place - A lane with houses This picture feels calm but a little lonely. The empty stone road and quiet houses make it seem peaceful, like no one is around. The dark clouds with bits of blue sky give it a dramatic feeling, like rain might come soon. It feels calm, quiet, and a little sad in a nice way. Scenes to film in this background  (empty road and cloudy sky) can be used for a dramatic walking away scene, someone feeling lonely or lost. it can also be for a new beginning scene like someone coming to a new town. it’s good for a quiet talking moment between two characters or just before a storm to make it feel suspenseful. Serenity Place - A tea cultivation This background gives a very peaceful and calming feeling. The green tea bushes in the front with the mountains in the distance make it feel natural and quiet. The orange and pink sunset adds a warm, dre...

how does the story line bring out meaning to the Music Video

Here, I will be researching some MVs to show how the storyline of the MV contributes to bringing out the actual meaning of the song. Yellow - Treasure Yellow’ is a Korean song that captures the excitement, energy, and emotions of youthful love and friendship. The music video brings these lyrics to life through a clear and playful storyline, showing the members preparing for competitions, supporting each other, and interacting with a crush. The visuals make the feelings expressed in the song tangible, allowing viewers to connect with the emotions and story even without understanding the language. Through bright colors, lively scenes, and small moments of affection, the MV transforms the lyrics into a narrative that is both entertaining and meaningful. The Music video concept: In the "Yellow" music video, the members of Treasure are depicted preparing for a dance competition, with one member's crush attending as part of the audience. The narrative centers around the main c...
